BAJITO GIRL BY ORTEGA

This is another awesome piece by AZ Prisoner Ortega. Me and Ortega had some kind of a falling out on one of my visits in person to meet him and discuss his amazing art.
Convicts are usually very violent, in a bad mood type of people, can't blame them. So I don't but for me to have the PTSD that I have and have to deal with their staring me down because they could do so much more than I was doing with their art - when really they can't because once you are out of prison the last thing you think about is art. I always felt bad entering prison to see him and other prisoners because i knew i would feel bad leaving him and them behind and walking back out into the hot desert but free and fresh air of Arizona getting into my car and driving down the long road away from those maximum security prisons.
i did always liked it that they had an prisoner driving the visitors bus from the front gate up to the big house - i always gave him a wink letting him know i know how special his job was to him. half in and half out of that shit behind those walls.
After we were searched to go behind the sally port doors and beyond the fence cages we were moved into as a visitor group they always made us stand up against the wire of the big cage we were in and dogs smelled our asses up and down the wire - that was a weird surprise but all of prison is weird - that prison especially - i could write a book about the shit they allowed i the visiting room i never seen in any other prison. they had a big sign up saying NO SPEEDOS!! What the fuck??? - They had a cigar smoking section where families could take in cigars for their convict to walk around and smoke with them. They let them play board games with their family, and they even had microwaves. I was like damn, y'all be spoiled rotten up in this place. Texas prisons my visits were limited to little packs of cookies and other bullshit. Maybe a picture with the prisoner behind his obligatory glass wall in his little visitor box guards patrolling up and down between the booths with the handcuff slots so the inmates cant get to them on the end of their visit. No thank you I don't envy them their guard job.
